EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (AS) from a two-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of two (2) years of general pediatric nursing experience of which at least six (6) months must have been spent caring for medically fragile infants or children in pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, PPEC or similar care setting during the previous five (5) years.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
: Current Florida Practical Nurse (LPN) or Florida Vocational Nurse (LVN) license is required. The current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license is preferred but not required. BLS Certification is required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of home healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures. Strong leadership and managerial skills. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and stakeholders. Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical record systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
POSITION SUMMARY
Spark Pediatrics has an immediate opening for an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) in our Medical Daycare, a prominent Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) provider. The Assistant Nurse Manager will partner with the Director of Nursing to ensure that the day-to-day operational aspects of the center are in order and support in all patient care initiatives. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and staffing needs of the center. This position allows you to return to the core of nursing, working alongside dedicated Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). It’s an enriching role that enables you to make a real difference in the lives of children with special needs. We cater to children ages 0-21 who require a nursing intervention due to physical needs. This is a rewarding role that allows for a direct impact on the lives of children who need special care. Currently, our hours of operation are 6 AM – 6 PM, Monday -Saturday, with potential Sunday openings as need arises.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with CSI’s/Spark policies, procedures, guidelines, contractual commitments, and regulations. Oversee closing and opening procedures of the center daily. Conduct staff interviews and lead orientation for new hires. Conduct inspections of the center, reporting facility issues to the Regional Director Conduct tours of centers to prospect new patients and patient families. Review, approve or deny staff PTO requests. DAILY Own staffing needs of the center according to the staffing grid in partnership with Director of Nursing Document attendance needs and report absence reasons to leadership. Managing attendance and transportation logs, reporting logs back to the leadership team daily Conducting safety inspections of the playground and transport vehicles Assess patient supplies and needs included in the parent progress reports. WEEKLY Document and order needed supplies for the center. Print staff schedules and van assignments. Update transportation list. Manage client census report and make corrections as needed. Conduct staff interviews. MONTHLY Document and order needed supplies for the center. Conduct safety inspections of the center, including but not limited to: AC air filter and change as needed. Generator and document condition Updating and printing refrigerator log Updating fire drill log and managing monthly fire prevention Confirm that the staffing schedule is up to date for the next sixty days.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of the position may include standing, walking, lifting, and carrying objects, and performing various patient care activities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based in a dynamic, fast-paced medical daycare setting that can be quite busy and at times chaotic. The nature of the environment requires an individual who can maintain calmness and professionalism under pressure. Moderate noise levels are to be expected due to active care and engagement with children. It’s important that the successful candidate can effectively adapt to these conditions while continuously providing high-quality care to our patients.
