Position Overview The RN Unit Manager will play a vital role in ensuring top-tier nursing care, supporting our Director and Assistant Director of Nursing in maintaining a smooth, efficient, and caring environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight:
Supervise daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Quality Patient Care:
Work closely with the DON and ADON to uphold exceptional care standards, minimizing overtime and agency use.
Personnel Management:
Guide and mentor unit staff, facilitate team meetings, and manage scheduling to maintain optimal coverage.
Problem Solving:
Handle personnel grievances effectively, escalating matters as needed to maintain a harmonious work environment.
Skills Development:
Provide hands-on training, evaluate nursing skills, and maintain a high-performing team.
Compliance & Documentation:
Oversee the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) for residents and support quality assurance initiatives.
Family and Resident Relations:
Collaborate on discharge planning and ensure residents and their families receive compassionate, high-quality service.
Committee Participation:
Represent the nursing department in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to facility improvement plans.
