Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in ensuring our residents receive exceptional care while leading nursing staff effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the DON and ADON to evaluate and direct day-to-day nursing department operations. Ensure all nursing services personnel adhere to their respective job descriptions. Review and address complaints and grievances, ensuring appropriate reporting to the DON. Oversee unit management duties, collaborating with the DON to maintain proper nursing coverage. Effectively manage staff utilization to minimize overtime and agency personnel. Implement progressive counseling and initiate disciplinary actions when necessary. Provide professional supervision to both professional and non-professional staff. Attend committee meetings as requested. Assume nursing responsibilities for weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Participate in developing and evaluating quality assurance activities. Teach, demonstrate, and evaluate nursing skills used in resident care. Oversee MDS completion for the unit. Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement discharge plans. Prepare reports, review records, and participate in data collection as needed. Participate in staff recruitment, including interviews and candidate selection. Ensure residents and families experience a caring and compassionate environment that prioritizes individual needs and rights.
Requirements:
Valid RN license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in long-term care preferred. Two (2) years of experience preferred as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility. Must have at least six months’ experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
