Job Summary:

Provides leadership andcoordination of unit staffing while ensuring implementation ofclinical objectives and quality patient care.

Job Responsibilitiesand Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assigns, directs,educates and monitors nursing and support staff during assignedshift. Contributes to or performs performance evaluations of staff.

Assesses daily patient care needs and develops and distributespatient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriatepatient care is given. Collaborates with advanced practiceproviders to ensure quality outcomes. Evaluates the effectivenessof patient care and identifies any issues that affect desiredpatient outcomes. Responds to complaints about patient care andmanages through established channels. May provide input for hiring,training, directing, developing and evaluating staff. Works in aconstant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other dutiesas assigned.

EDUCATION

Graduate of accredited school of nursing oreducation equivalency for licensing

One year ofregistered nurse experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant use ofspeech to share information through oral communication. Constantstanding and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pullingobjects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboarduse/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception fordistances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and toidentify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell todetect/recognize odors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oralcommunication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms,malfunctioning machinery, etc. Occasional lifting/carrying andpushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasionallifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling,squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/armmovements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running.
