Description:

We are seeking an operating room (OR) Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) with 2+ years of experience. Our Registered Nurses are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care. OR Scrub Plans, coordinates and directs the daily operations of the Operating room. Supervises staff and facilitates communication between the Operating Room, Interventional Radiology, and Endoscopy to provide optimal patient and family-centered care. Exhibits excellence in problem-solving, negotiating conflict, and collaborating with others. Takes leadership in the daily flow of the unit through creating patient assignments, facilitating patient through-put, being the liaison for anesthesia and the surgical/procedural providers. Performs daily huddles with staff and communicates real-times updates to workflows that directly impact patient care

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Nursing (MSN) preferred. Two years of nursing experience acute and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration. Current RN license approved by the Georgia Licensing Board required. BLS certification required. ACLS may be required in some areas. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments. Achieve electives/points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position. Must complete UCN/SNM criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488, completion of formal preceptor training workshop and enrollment in LEAP course.

At Emory University Hospital Midtown our Perioperative Surgical Department consist of 28 OR suites with 3 to 4 designated for cardiovascular cases. Our service lines include General, GYN, Urology, Bariatrics, Robotics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Podiatry, ENT, Skull Base, OMFS, Plastics, and CVOR. We are staffed 365 day a year. There can be some late, on call and/or holiday requirements as well as a rotation to cover overnight shifts and weekend shifts for those dedicated teams. There is an orientation period of 8-12 weeks, depending on experience.
