Position Summary:

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking an experienced and passionate Manager of Nursing Professional Practice to provide strategic leadership in advancing nursing excellence across the system. This role is responsible for the oversight and coordination of professional nursing recognition and development programs including Magnet (r), Pathway to Excellence(r), Beacon, and PRISM. The Manager plays a critical role in embedding the ANCC Magnet standards into the fabric of nursing and hospital operations, while championing a culture of shared governance, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement. This leader collaborates closely with nurse leaders to align nursing professional practice with NGHS strategic goals and ensures that nursing standards and outcomes reflect the highest levels of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the coordination and submission of Magnet , Pathway to Excellence, Beacon, and PRISM applications, designations, and re-designations. Serve as the system liaison to the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program Office and other professional organizations. Support the integration of Magnet standards throughout the nursing infrastructure and hospital system. Facilitate strategic initiatives that drive quality, safety, and nursing excellence in alignment with system goals. Collaborate with nursing leadership to support shared governance and the advancement of the professional practice environment. Coordinate educational efforts and staff development initiatives related to professional nursing practice. Analyze and support the use of nursing quality data, including National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), Press Ganey (patient experience and employee engagement), and other benchmarks. Partner with the Director of Nursing Quality on nurse-sensitive indicators and evidence-based quality improvement efforts. Lead or participate in key committees that support professional practice, research, and excellence in care delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure/Certification:

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia. Holds a professional certification in a clinical or leadership specialty.

Education:

Master’s degree required. Must hold a degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN).

Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting. At least three (3) years of nursing leadership, management, or equivalent experience. Experience with Magnet or Pathways to Excellence journey documentation and process.
