Position Summary:
Supervises, coordinates, and provides for the total nursing needs of surgical patients according to Houston Healthcare’s Plan for the Provision of Nursing Care, standards of care, and standards of practice. Accountable for continual evaluation of all patient care delivered. Uses initiative, independent judgment and problem-solving ability in performance of duties. Works closely with Nurse Manager and keeps them aware of any incidents or unusual occurrences within the department. May assume duties of Nurse Manager in his/her absence. II.
Qualifications:
A.
Education & Training:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. B.
Experience:
One year nursing experience. C.
Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
Current US state RN license with authorization to practice in the state of GA. Current
AHA/ARC BLS
certification. Current
AHA ACLS/ARC ALS
certification or obtained within nine (9) months. D.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment. Must be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc. Must be able to utilize standard office equipment. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Midas, etc.). Proficiency in Intranet/Internet use. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent oral/written communication skills. Skilled in conflict resolution, critical thinking, task management and appropriate prioritization/delegation. Successful candidates will be subject to criminal background and drug screens.
