Job Description
RN Charge Nurse 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 810 South Broadway Street, Church Point, LA 70525 Genesis Behavioral Hospital is looking for a Full Time Charge Nurse. The responsibilities of this positions is as follows but not limited to: Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, and formulating nursing interventions directed towards development of an individualized plan of care and treatment modalities Conducts ongoing assessment of clients from admission to discharge Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the client to include discharge planning Prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions in relation to expected outcomes Provides individual patient teaching on all identified learning needs Documents care, progress, response to intervention in medical record in an accurate, thorough, and concise manner. Follows up on client care responsibilities; communicates incomplete assignments and current client needs to staff to assure continuity of care. Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and responsibility for decision making, quality nursing care, and knowledge base of psychiatric nursing care. Promotes a therapeutic and safe environment for patients, families, staff and visitors. Implements nursing interventions identified in the plan of care that is individualized to the patient needs. Applies appropriate interventions to progress the patient towards wellness and addresses maintenance of wellness. Facilitates nursing groups relevant to patient needs. Initiates medical/psychiatric crisis intervention to stabilize and ensure the well-being of the patient’s conditions. Provides structure and maintains a therapeutic milieu in collaboration with the patient and other health care providers Demonstrates good management techniques in establishing lines of authority and accountability for patient care, and communication to
DON:
Assists the DON in regular performance feedback; develops subordinates’ skills and encourages growth. Assist the DON to analyze, review and follow up on incident reports related to nursing/ patient safety issues in conjunction with risk management. Provides effective leadership and management to all nursing personnel. Ensures staff compliance with hospital/unit policies and procedures, protocols, and guidelines Coaches, mentors, and ensures staff development/training & competencies of staff. Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process. Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions.
