Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Unit Manager(RN/ LPN) to join our leadership team. This role oversees the clinicaloperations of two 18-bed units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality,person-centered care in a safe and supportive environment. The UnitManager (RN/ LPN) leads care plan meetings, supervises and supportscaregivers, and facilitates interdisciplinary communication to promoteoptimal resident outcomes. The role includes active participation inquality assurance initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts. TheUnit Manager (RN/ LPN) reports directly to the Director of Nursing andparticipates in the on-call rotation one weekend day per month and oneholiday per year.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the
DON/ADON
indirecting day-to-day nursing activities in accordance with the rules andregulations governing the facility.
- Participate in developing,maintaining, updating policies/procedures that govern functions ofnursing department.
- Ensure that reference material (i.e., PDR’S,Federal and State Regulations, etc.) maintained at the nurses’ stationsis current.
- Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with theprocedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual
- Makewritten & oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary,concerning operation of the nursing department.
- Assist in coordinatingnursing with other resident services to ensure the continuity of theresidents’ total regimen of care.
- Ensure that all nursing servicepersonnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation ofquality assurance program for the nursing department.
- Participate infacility surveys made by government agencies as requested by theAdministrator or DON.
- Review residents’ written discharge plan.
Participate in updating resident’s written discharge plan asrequired.
- Assist the Director in planning the nursing services portionof the resident’s discharge plan as necessary.
- Meet with the nursingstaff, as well as support personnel, in planning the department’sservices, programs, and activities.
- Admit, transfer, and dischargeresidents as required.
- Complete accident/incident reports asnecessary.
- Perform administrative duties such as completing medicalforms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc., as necessary.
- Ensure that a sufficient number of LPNs and/or RNs are available foryour tour of duty to ensure quality care is maintained.
- Ensuresufficient CNAs are available for your tour of duty so that nursing caremeets the daily nursing needs of residents.
- Develop work assignments,and/or assist in completing and performing such tasks.
- Inform nursingservice personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival,room assignment, etc.
- Ensure that rooms are ready for newadmissions.
- Greet newly admitted residents upon admission. Escort themto their rooms as necessary.
- Make rounds with physicians asnecessary.
- Notify the resident’s attending physician and next-of-kinwhen there is a change in the resident’s condition.

Qualifications:
- Current RN or LPN Massachusetts license.
- NursingDegree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of anapproved LPN/RN program.
- At least 2 year(s) of experience as asupervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other relatedhealth care facility.
