Req #: 37885 Full Time/Nights For a limited time MaineHealth is offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 1-2years of RN experience and $20,000 for Registered Nurses with greater than 2years of RN work experience! Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.

The Spring Harbor Child and Adolescent service is a 34 bed, 4-unit, service providing care to youth from throughout Maine. Youth who require acute mental health treatment are typically imminent risk to themselves or others and are unable to receive treatment at a lower level of care due to the severity of their psychiatric symptoms. The Registered Nurse collaborates as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop and deliver each patient’s individualized plan of care utilizing the nursing process in an acute psychiatric inpatient setting. The multidisciplinary team includes medical providers, occupational therapists, social work clinicians, behavior analysts, and nursing staff.

Depression
Disruptive Behavior Disorders
Emerging Psychotic Disorders
Anxiety Disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Substance Use Disorders Unit treatment and programming includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy interventions, and utilization of positive behavioral incentives and supports. Patients receive on-site academic tutoring and engage in recreational opportunities in the gym, and the outside playground and courtyard areas. Treatment includes dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, milieu activities, and skills-based groups.
The Registered Nurse – Charge – Behavioral Health role assumes frontline leadership in the daily operations of the department and works collaboratively with departmental staff, physicians/advanced practice practitioners, hospital staff, pre-hospital providers and community agencies to provide oversight and direction for the delivery of safe patient and family centered care. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
License/Certifications:
Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current BLS certification required or must complete within 30 days of start date. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification RN-BC preferred.
Experience:
Two years of relevant experience preferred, experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
