Supports the decisions of senior nurse leaders by implementing education & training for new or changing programs of care.

Education & ExperienceGraduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN). Master’s degree in Nursing or Education preferred. Minimum of 5 years recent acute care experience. At least 2 years supervisory and/or management experience or educational experience. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Valid RN license Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong written & verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal talent.

Ability to utilize critical thinking and decision- making skills. Responsibilities Assesses, plans, develops, implements, evaluates & manages comprehensive education and professional development needs supported by the nursing professional practice model & that align with our mission, vision and values.

Collaborates with key stakeholders throughout the organization to assess trends, issues and supporting data related to educational needs and determine a comprehensive plan.

Assimilates the findings of evidence-based practice into nursing educational programs.

Participates in strategic planning, ad hoc projects & educational activities. Serves as a collaborate partner on the academic practice partnership with the UMMC School of Nursing. Participates in continued learning & utilize new technology & best practices that continue to advance the role throughout the organization.
