Position Overview:

The RN Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing clinical operations on a 24-hour basis. This leadership role includes oversight of staff, resource management, fiscal planning, and performance evaluation. The RN Manager collaborates across departments to ensure efficient, high-quality care and supports staff development and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Compensation is commensurate upon education, experience, certification, and internal equity. Hiring compensation range starts from $44.02 /hour.

02/hour or more (depending on education & experience). Benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days of employment from the new hire orientation date. This position is a non-exempt position. Comprehensive benefits package to include health, dental, and vision insurance as well as HSA.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage daily operations of the assigned nursing department with 24-hour accountability.
Ensure optimal staffing, resource use, and adherence to departmental budgets.
Support recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and development of nursing staff.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and leadership to implement quality improvement initiatives.
Prepare and manage annual budgets in partnership with Finance and site leadership.
Oversee compliance with clinical protocols, hospital policy, and regulatory standards.
Demonstrate professional nursing practice by providing direct and indirect patient care as needed.

Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.

Experience:

At least two years of experience as a registered nurse is preferred.
Previous healthcare experience in an acute care or clinic setting is required.
Minimum one year in a nursing leadership role (e.g., charge nurse, supervisor) is required.

Required Registration/License/Certification:

Current RN licensure in North Carolina.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association at time of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be from the American Heart Association.
Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained from ENA.
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification required and completed during orientation.
All certifications must be obtained within 1 year of hire, except BLS.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated competency in clinical nursing care within the scope of licensure.
Familiarity with nursing care continuum and patient care department operations.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service to patients, families, and staff.
Proficiency in analyzing service metrics, preparing reports, and using computer applications.

Physical Demands:

Lifts, positions, pushes, pulls, and/or transfers up to and greater than 50 pounds
Manual dexterity and mobility
Prolonged, extensive or considerable sitting/standing/walking
Bending, squatting, twisting, turning
Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less

Working Conditions:

Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases
Frequently exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment; odorous chemicals and specimens; and, unpleasant elements (accident, injury, slippery surfaces uneven surfaces), etc.
Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays); and emergencies.
Continuous standing and walking long periods = to, or, greater than >8 hours per shift
Speaking, reading, and writing, expanded > 8 hours per day
Exposed to vibration; cramped spaces >1 hour day
