Summary/ObjectiveIn keeping with ourorganizations goal of improving the lives of the Residents weserve, the Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for the overallnursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate andtimely administration of medications, treatments, anddocumentation. The Nurse Unit Manager provides supervision of staffand will safeguard the health, safety and welfare of allResidents/residents under their care by following applicable laws,regulations, and established nursing policies andprocedures.

Essential Functions1. Provides quality nursing care toResidents/residents in an environment that promotes their rights,dignity and freedom of choice.2. Provides supervision to C.N.As andall subordinate staff which includes checking their work toascertain that assignments have been completed.3. Supervises directcare of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.4. Givesand receives shift reports.5. Rounds the unit multiple times duringthe shift to assure proper care is rendered in a safe and cleanenvironment.6. Keeps physicians and families aware of changes inresidents condition.7. Assists in developing comprehensive careplans.8. Completes medical records documenting care provided andother information in accordance with nursing policies whilemaintaining strict confidentiality.9. Assure that establishedinfection control and standard precaution practices are maintainedwhen providing care. Follow established safety precautions whenpreforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.11. Maintains thecomfort, privacy and dignity of Residents/residents and interactswith them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes acaring environment.12. Answer and respond to call lights promptlyand courteously.13. Assist with new admissions, re-admissions andassist with the transfer of Residents to different rooms within thefacility.14. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfullywith Residents/residents, visitors, families, peers andsupervisors.15. Attend and participate in departmental meetings andin-services as directed.

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position hasdirect supervisor responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides andother personnel assigned.

Required Education and ExperienceHighschool diploma or equivalent.

Graduate from and accredited nursingprogram.

Current State License as an RN or LPN.C.P.R.CertifiedPreferred Education and Experience One year experience asa nurse in a long-term care setting.#YAD123by Jobble
