POSITION SUMMARY
: The NICU Manager is a nurse leader who performs the primary functions of assessing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating patient care on a 24-hour basis for his/her designated unit(s). He/She manages all personnel, supplies and equipment necessary to facilitate safe, quality patient care. He/She keeps abreast of techniques, skills, current evidence based practices and regulations appropriate to age of patients served. 31 FTE’s 8am-5pm (weekends as needed)
Minimum Required:
BSN Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina. Maintains current certification in BLS and NRP. Minimum of 2 years’ recent management experience. Knowledge of, and ability to, develop strategies to apply current theoretical approaches to the delivery of patient care. Knowledge of current leadership, management and quality improvement concepts. Ability to perform and/or lead program development and implementation. Strong quality service skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to deal with the public.
Preferred:
MSN 3-5 years’ clinical experience in NICU nursing. NRP Instructor.
