Job Description
The Nursery Manager leads all aspects of our nursery operations, ensuring alignment with company goals while driving innovation, efficiency, and excellence. Our in-house nursery is the cornerstone of our operations, supplying top-quality plants, trees, and shrubs for our projects. This role combines leadership, resource planning, and expertise in horticulture to oversee the success of the nursery.
Responsibilities
Team Management and Leadership
Identify opportunities for growth, including new plant varieties, technologies, and process improvements.
Collaborate with division leadership to ensure nursery operations support landscaping project demands and overall business objectives.
Oversee staffing, training, and performance evaluations to build a skilled and motivated workforce.
Operational Oversight
Oversee nursery operations, including production, inventory, and quality assurance.
Plan and direct nursery team in daily operations to ensure efficiency and alignment with installation project schedules.
Ensure nursery infrastructure, including irrigation systems, greenhouses, and equipment, is maintained to high standards.
Financial and Resource Management
Develop and oversee the nursery budget, ensuring cost-effective operations, high-quality standards, and optimized resource use.
Monitor inventory, procurement, and pricing strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.

Quality Assurance and Inventory Management:

Ensure all plants meet or exceed quality standards, maintaining the nursery’s reputation for excellence.
Stay informed on the best horticultural practices and market trends to implement innovative solutions that enhance plant health, production efficiency, and sustainability
Compliance and Safety
Ensure all operations comply with environmental regulations and safety standards.
Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and providing regular training.
Competency
Strong strategic planning and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of plant production, propagation techniques, and pest/disease management.
Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and optimizing resources.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Job Requirements
5+ years of experience in nursery management, horticulture, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or equivalent experience.
Proven ability to manage large-scale nursery operations and lead diverse teams.
Ability to plan, organize, manage, and supervise activities for successful outcomes.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 or equivalent programs, previous use of Aspire is a plus.
