) Leads daily nursing operations. Resource for residents, family & staff with questions or concerns regarding resident care that cannot be answered by the direct service staff. Collaborates closely with the Director of Nursing & Resident Life Coordinator to ensure that resident needs & preferences for clinical care and a meaningful daily routine are integrated & met, and a culture of engagement is nurtured and upheld.
Clinical Functions :
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordination/assistance to maintain quality documentation by the nursing staff. Collaboration with primary provider (or designee) and nursing staff to clarify orders and concerns about physician assessments and findings, diagnostic/lab values, etc. Ensures completion of nursing assessments including Admissions assessments and quarterly risk management assessments including but not limited to Braden’s, AIMS and Falls Risk.
Oversight of Service Delivery:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Walking rounds and oversight of hands-on care with a special emphasis on residents with the highest acuity and at end-of-life to ensure the highest quality of care. In the moment education for staff related to clinical processes and approaches to resident care. Collaboration with nursing staff to provide specific health care promotion/prevention/education to the resident/family at and prior to discharge. Work in partnership with all members of the Interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care delivery. Initial contact for any resident/family concern or need, ensuring attention and/or follow-up . Communicates with family members regarding residents’ condition (as indicated). Serves as a resource for staff when questions regarding service or care interactions arise. Make daily contact with residents to ensure needs and goals as identified in each resident’s care and service plan are being implemented and met. Ensure employees function according to respective job descriptions. Reviews daily work assignments to assure the right staff mix with resident needs, adjusting as required for care/service delivery. Supervision of the Nursing Staff Participate in On- Call rotation with nurse leaders.
Requirements:
Education :
Current, unencumbered license as Licensed Nurse in North Carolina Current certification in CPR – Adult Module (American Health Association or American Red Cross).
Additional Requirements:
Maintain technical skills related to medication administration, as well as all skills needed to provide hands-on care as a Licensed Nurse, particularly for infrequently performed procedures to provide technical assistance to staff as needed. Attend courses/classes as needed to enhance needed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the position.
Experience :
2-3 years’ experience as a Licensed Nurse 1-2 years’ supervisory experience Long-term care and/or geriatrics experience preferred.
Full- Time:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Occasional requirement to cover open shifts. After hours on-call requirements in rotation with other Nurse Leaders.
