(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.
- The primary purpose of the Director of Patient Admissions and Referrals position is to direct and coordinate the Admissions and Referral Department for Walter B.
Jones Center. Responsibilities include direct interaction and oversight to ensure a response to the community and the patient’s admission’s experiences upon arrival at Walter B. Jones Center.
Other responsibilities include:
Provide leadership in setting facility goals and objectives for the Admissions/Referrals Department.
Develop and implement action plans to support admissions and referral policies and procedures.
Accomplish high bed occupancy by following procedures and policies to assure high bed occupancy and control bed availability.
Lead, develop, and maintain involvement and cooperation with both the public and private sector components of the service delivery system.
Manage all assigned performance improvement / quality assurance projects.
Position will be assigned to Walter B. Jones Center and will typically work Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. About the Walter B.
Jones Center:
The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in
Greenville, NC:
(1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is “To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery”. The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and
SAMHSA/CSAT.
Two specialty programs are offered to all 100
NC Counties:
(1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following: Proven basic knowledge of nursing principles and techniques for medical, surgical and mental health practices
Proven knowledge of principles and practices of state and federal laws standards, certifying and accrediting bodies, guidelines, and regulations applicable to area of assignment.
Demonstrated ability to provide feedback and guidance/counsel to nursing staff on care rendered to patients.
Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with facilities/supervisory and management staff and outside organizations in planning, scheduling and providing service
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to patients, families and staff in a concise and descriptive manner verbally and in written form. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina, three years of clinical experience in the area of specialization, including one year of supervisory program experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
