Job Summary and Qualifications Unit:

A4W Adult MedSurg The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers highquality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions inthe unit/department during the designated shift. In collaborationwith other members of the management team, the CNC directs,monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with establishedpolicies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, andmodels a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values tosupport an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomesthat contribute to overall departmental performance. What you willdo in this role:

• Assists with admission and discharge processesto ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centeredcare.
• Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality ofpatient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration withother members of the management team.
• Collaborates with subjectmatter experts and other managers to create an environment ofteamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
• Supports apatient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery whennecessary.
• Supports the efforts of the facility to improveengagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies,including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives
• Provides recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, andtraining new staff. Recommends and implements courses of action,including training and development, conflict resolution, personnelpolicy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/ordisciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization
• Assists with staff scheduling. Manages all practical aspects ofstaff labor in accordance with patient care needs and establishedproductivity guidelines.
• Supports proper inventory control andassists with managing supplies and equipment.

What qualificationsyou will need:

• Required Experience:

  1yrs of RN and or applicableexperience

• Preferred Experience:

  Hospital nursing experience

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enroll in aBSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 years ofhire date into RN position. Grandfathering will be accepted betweendepartments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions, or extensions,may be approved by the facility CNO and reported out to the CNOCouncil members. Each facility will ensure tracking of exemptionsshould this information be needed. RNs with 10 years or more ofexperience are exempt.

• Preferred Education:

  Master’s Degree inNursing

• Required License:

  Currently licensed as a registeredprofessional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an activecompact license, in accordance with law and regulation. Must haveand maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the NorthCarolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact)license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON.
