Role:

As a Nurse Manager at Cedarcrest, you will play a vital leadership role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to children and young adults with complex medical needs. You’ll provide guidance and oversight to Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs), Child Care Assistants, and Feeding Technicians, ensuring consistent care and a supportive environment for residents across all three shifts. This hands-on leadership position includes direct nursing responsibilities, staff development, and collaboration across interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Support Lead and support LNAs, Child Care Assistants, and Feeding Technicians in delivering high-quality, person-centered care in compliance with Cedarcrest policies and regulatory requirements. Create and maintain daily staff assignments and promote teamwork and a cohesive unit culture. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship to staff, including participation in counseling and evaluation processes. Actively support and collaborate with nursing staff to address daily needs and concerns, as requested by the Director of Nursing Services. Nursing Oversight & Documentation Complete nursing documentation for admissions, discharges, quarterly/annual summaries, and Medicaid evaluations. Support pharmacy processes, including prior authorizations, medication refills, and EMR updates. Participate in child care planning meetings and ensure timely, accurate charting by LNAs and technicians. Track clinical data for review with the Medical Director and contribute to improvements in documentation and communication processes. Primary Nursing Care & Clinical Coordination Provide direct nursing care as needed, including staffing floor shifts and participating in the on-call schedule. Collaborate with the Medical Director on medical follow-ups, authorizations, physicals, and care coordination. Organize and support medical appointments and on-site/telehealth visits, including liaison work with consultants and vendors. Guide families and guardians through discharge preparation, including education and training. Staff Development & Operational Leadership Serve as a role model of professionalism, empathy, ethical decision-making, and critical thinking. Identify staffing needs, support recruitment efforts, and lead new hire orientation and ongoing staff development. Coordinate scheduling, oversee attendance, and participate in budgeting for medical supply orders. Conduct regular shift meetings and participate in cross-departmental teams such as QAPI, Safety, and Inservice Committees. Help identify and meet staff training needs, support nursing competencies, and mentor nursing students during clinical rotations. Qualifications:

Active RN License

  • Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Hampshire. Clinical Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in clinical nursing, with at least 3 years specializing in pediatrics. Leadership Background
  • Prior administrative or leadership experience required, with demonstrated organizational and management skills. Educational Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred. Specialized Experience
  • Experience working with children who have multiple disabilities and/or chronic health conditions is strongly preferred.
