About the Role
The Clinical Nursing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical and administrative
operations of the Bariatric Surgical Service. This includes oversight of support staff, clinic operations, surgical data collection, patient education, and compliance with all Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) standards. The Clinical Nursing Coordinator actively supports the multidisciplinary team in implementing evidence‐based practices and quality initiatives in alignment with ASMBS guidelines.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do Oversees and monitors the continuum of care for bariatric patients, from initial consult through post‐operative follow‐up.
Coordinates and participates in patient assessments, pre‐operative education, and post‐operative care plans in collaboration with physicians, dietitians, and support staff.
Serves as the primary clinical liaison for patients navigating the bariatric program.
Participates in patient rounds and quality improvement reviews.
Coordinates MBSAQIP data collection, documentation, analysis, and quality reporting.
Assists in development, review, and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies.
Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, state, federal, and MBSAQIP standards.
Supports accreditation efforts by preparing documentation and participating in site visits.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience in a healthcare environment, with at least two (2) years in bariatric or surgical care.
Certification as a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Clinical Reviewer (MBSCR) preferred or must be obtained within six months of hire.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with data tracking systems, electronic health records, and quality metrics.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is NS/03S - $96,678.00
- $120,871.00
- $145,065.
00 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
