POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is energetic and passionate about helping and working with a diverse population. The Nurse Manager will oversee all licensed practical nurses and certified medical assistants as they provide healthcare services to patients and audit the accuracy of their records. The Nurse Manager will evaluate and treat patients and will work under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Duties include training, scheduling, and mentoring, assisting providers with workflow, and managing patient issues. The Nurse Manager works with and reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises all Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Medical Assistants. Ensures support staff coverage for all sites and providers including Medical Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses. Responsible for staff coverage and adjusts staff working schedules as needed to cover PTO, sick and emergency calls. Maximizes the use of available staff resources. Facilitates staff training and retraining to further the professional development of the staff and improvement to patient care. Works with the Director of Nursing and the Quality Specialist/Front-end Manager to implement any existing, new or revised clinical processes. Works with Human Resources regarding discipline, grievance resolution, and performance evaluations for all clinical support staff. Works with the Director of Nursing to design a process to maintain inventory throughout the sites. Oversees staff to ensure the daily AM and PM checklists are completed. Ensures clinic compliance with HRSA, Ambulatory Care and Mental Health licensing regulatory. Manages all vaccine, medication, supply ordering, storage, inventory and audits of Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistant workflow. Conducts huddles/staff meetings in collaboration with Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants. Completes competency reviews as well as on going reviews and evaluations. Ensures that all staff certifications are up to date and documented in their personnel file. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and the Quality Specialist/Front-end Manager to schedule risk management training for staff to mitigate risk within the organization. Conducts monthly audits to ensure proper documentation regarding vaccines, EUAs, VIS, history of vaccines administered, vaccine documentation, vaccination sites, proper VFC status, and information is correct and entered in the system. Conducts monthly audits to ensure vitals are being charted correctly. Implement quality improvement measures approved by the Director of Nursing as needed for staff. Oversees clinical operations with respect to appointment scheduling, patient flow, and medical records. Responsible for maintaining efficiency through provider scheduling and identifying gaps in services. Monitors the clinical process of patient flow, and medical records. Audit labs, review time and patient communication. Review Licensed Practical Nurses workflow for provider schedule verification. Assist with training Licensed Practical Nurses on crisis intervention and ensure incidents reports are filled out and submitted. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Hold a current Registered Nurse license in the state of New Jersey. One year supervisor within a healthcare center or hospital. Basic CPR (BCLS) certification (Required). Phlebotomy Skills (Required). Bilingual (English/Spanish)-Preferred Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Commitment to working in a community health center with the challenges of high risk and often uninsured diverse patient population.

Computer literacy:

Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required. Demonstrated problem solving ability including planning, organizing, and prioritizing. Ability to manage and motivate individuals, while developing group cohesiveness. Ability to work collaboratively and productively with all members of senior leadership, medical providers, and clinical staff. Highly organized with an attention to detail.
