$86,650.99 – $134,309.04 Job Description Summary The AssistantNurse Manager has responsibility, authority, and accountability forthe delivery of patient care within the defined patient care areaon the assigned primary shift of work. The Assistant Nurse Managercontributes to the goal setting and the defining of opportunitiesfor each patient care area for which they are responsible that isconsistent with the organizational goals and strategic nursinginitiatives. The Assistant Nurse Manager mentors staff for thedevelopment of a patient care team that demonstrates nursingleadership, professionalism, competency, and quality. The AssistantNurse Manager is collegial and customer oriented to patients,family, peers, and physicians, as throughput and care coordinationis achieved. The Assistant Nurse Manager is an expert in the careof patients within the unit of specialty.

QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

A Baccalaureate in nursing degree isrequired, a Master’s of Nursing Preferred. Must hold current NewYork State Registered Nurse registration or eligible for licensurein New York State.

EXPERIENCE

Management experience preferred.

Able to communicate effectively at all levelswithin the organization and with external customers and agencies.

Creates a collegial and collaborative environment among all membersof the healthcare team. Articulates clear expectations with staffand members of the patient care team.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for decisions.

Utilizes problem-solving and decision making skills. Coaches andmentors staff.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to identify problems,collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Abilityto improve job performance through continuing education.

PHYSICALDEMANDS

While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, usehands to probe, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reachwith hands and arms, and speak and hear. Specificvision abilities required by this job include close vision,distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and theability to adjust focus.
