46 Under the direction of the attending physician, RN, LeadLPN or practice coordinator, the LPN will provide direct patientcare and assist in the following clinical functions to allproviders. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as the primarycontact and coordinator of referrals for pediatric specialtypatients seen at outside facilities. The LPN coordinates schedulingand care needs of patients needing outpatient specialty physicianservices. The LPN Specialty Coordinator anticipates the outpatientvisit needs of a patient and assures appropriate equipment andsupply availability for specialty providers for their patientvisits. The LPN may also assist with clinical support of officevisits, including but not limited to: patient rooming, chartupdating, outside correspondence population, procedural support,both outside and within AMC facilities. At the direction of theirsupervisor, the LPN may travel to the outside facilities forprovider support.
