The Nurse Manager (NM) coordinates and manages overall clinical operations and supervisory responsibilities of a specific outpatient clinic.
Essential Functions:
Participates in and supports patient care with emphasis on patient response including triaging and timely follow up on medical concerns, referrals and diagnostic testing. Plans, modifies care and implements interventions as needed and communicates appropriately with patient. Accurately and efficiently updates patient medical records on a regular basis. Responsible for supervision of all non-provider clinical and administrative site staff to include appropriate scheduling, identifying training needs, recruitment/interviewing, addressing disciplinary issues and providing overall guidance and mentorship. Identifies training needs for new and current staff including hands-on training, EMR, infection control, CPR, etc. Monitors clinic’s workflow to ensure efficient operations and patient cycle time. Recommends workflow enhancement to achieve practice transformation goals. Monitors and tracks expenditures including staffing and clinical supply costs by staying within budget and helping to promote effective use of resources. Monitors the flow/transition of patient services within the clinic. Implements workflows necessary to meet quality metrics Responsible for managing all aspects of the infusion clinic and acts as back up as needed. Receives, handles and investigates complaints regarding patient quality of care concerns. Ensures necessary follow up is completed. Assumes responsibility for resolving more difficult service programs as needed or requested. Manages provider scheduling for infusion coverage on a monthly basis. Handles service calls daily to ensure timely responses and resolutions. Oversees and orders all office/administrative and clinical supplies, ensuring efficient inventory management and budget adherence. Collaborates with other managers to ensure consistent and efficient practices are being done across all sites (if applicable) Reviews established standards of nursing care (triage process, staffing mix, patient wait times) on a regular basis and recommends and implements changes as needed for all clinical sites. Responsible for ordering NYS prescriptions as needed. Complies with quality assurance, OSHA, infection control, safety and other policies as set forth. Ability to work at least 37.5 hours per week on a regular basis, except during times when paid time off is requested and approved. Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies and practices.
Other Functions:
Arranges required and/or needed trainings on an annual or as-needed basis. Attends required/requested meetings including quality, PCT, medical director, etc. May be required to travel to other UBMD Neurology locations dependent on company/employee needs. Work hours may fluctuate depending on company/department needs. Any other duties as requested or assigned by the President and CEO and/or other management representative.
Working/Environment Conditions:
Position is in a well-lit, moderate to fast-paced, clean office environment. Office noise level will be moderate most times. Moderate/average indoor temperatures.

Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse program. Current NYS nursing license.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of previous nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. Minimum of one (1) year of supervision/management experience required. Knowledge of Infusion Care and Neurological disease management helpful.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills required. Strong organizational, leadership and attention-to-detail skills are required. Proficiency in electronic medical records required.
