40.00 Job SummaryResponsible for providing clinical and administrative leadership ina hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility to maintainstandards of patient care. Implements the vision, mission, andstrategic plan of clinical services and the system. Assists in thedevelopment, planning, and implementation of a systems approach toimprove and maintain standards in clinical patient care, patientsafety, and health outcomes. Maintains communication and addressesthe rapidly changing healthcare environment in which clinicalservices are delivered across the system. Leads the development andexecution of clinical programs, policies, procedures and protocolsensuring system integration and adherence. Monitors operations ofnursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations onorganizational and governmental standards and practices.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. Graduate froma nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, butnot limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE),Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), andNational League for Nursing Commission for Nursing EducationAccreditation (NLN CNEA). For Rural Health Network facilities only,employees hired after January, 2025, who do not possess aBachelor’s degree in the required field, leadership may consider aneducational plan with proven continuous action toward achieving aBachelor’s degree in Nursing within five years of hire intoposition. Approval from the Nursing Executive for the market isrequired in order to waive the bachelor degree requirement at timeof hire. Additionally for Rural Health Network facilities, forcurrent employees, leadership may have considered acceptablequalifications and work experience equivalency based on facilitysize, rural market, and business need, prior to new Sanfordeducation requirements. Minimum five years nursing experience. Twoyears’ management/leadership experience preferred. Thoroughknowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursingcare, and a working knowledge of administrative and managementtechniques. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with theState Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurringand/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact(NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required departmentspecific competencies and certifications.
