Responsibilities The nurse manager 24/7 practice is accountable forthe implementation of the vision, mission and values of Mayo Clinicand the Department of Nursing within defined areas of practice. Thenurse manager 24/7 practice plans, directs, coordinates, andevaluates the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities withindefined areas of practice to ensure the provision of qualitypatient care 24 hours a day. The individual contributes to thestrategic planning process, and attainment of goals of theorganization. The individual is responsible for one or moreinpatient units based upon unit/area complexity and size ofpractice. The nurse manager 24/7 practice advocates for andallocates available resources to promote efficient, effective,safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards ofpractice. The nurse manager 24/7 practice is responsible for totalwork unit budget. The individual promotes shared decision making onthe unit level. The nurse manager 24/7 practice acts as a resourceand facilitates collaboration between nursing personnel and otherhealth care disciplines throughout the organization and within thehealthcare community. The nurse manager 24/7 is accountable forpromoting ongoing development of all staff and for maintaining aprofessional environment in which all staff can grow and develop.

Direct reports may include nurse supervisors of assigned inpatientunits. This role is eligible for TN sponsorship.

QualificationsRochester:

Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing programand a Masters degree in Nursing, business or a health related fieldas approved by the Mayo Clinic Nurse Executive Committee. Willconsider applicants meeting all other qualifications who commit todegree completion within six months from application date.

Candidates who meet the baccalaureate degree requirement, but havenot yet obtained a Masters degree may be considered for an interimrole.

Arizona:

Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursingprogram, masters preferred. Minimum of three years of nursingpractice or progressive leadership experience required. Currentstate RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the StateBoard of Nursing in which the RN practices.

Arizona and Florida:

Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.

Midwest:

Maintainscurrent Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one ofthe following programs: American Heart Association or American RedCross (required by January 1, 2017). Maintains ACLS and PALS perspecific unit guidelines. Additional state licensure(s) and/orspecialty certification/training as required by the work area.
