Rotating ( 4p or 5p to 2a or 3am with two weekend shift requirement per month. 4 10 hour shifts)

SUMMARY:

A clinically competent RN who is responsible to coordinate and provide oversight to the patient activity within their defined area(s) of responsibility. Supports the Director in the identification, plan, implementation, and achievement of departmental/unit goals and objectives, quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives. Serves as a coach and mentor to all staff and successfully builds and sustains positive collaborative working relationships in a multidisciplinary team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ .Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes quality patient care with a focus on safety. + Establishes improvement process changes to achieve established goals and targets. + Visibility with routine rounding to include both staff engagement and patient experience rounding. Develops and sustains practices that support the highest level of staff engagement and achieves excellence in the patient experience. + Delivers care for identified patient population and scope of service directly while assuring all staff members within area of responsibility do the same.

Assist in the development of programs and strategies to monitor the quality of patient care outcomes. + Coordinates clinical and patient care support activities with the ability to motivate the team to produce quality outcomes. Assures all staff understands their responsibility and accountability related to achieving established goals and metrics. + Promotes collaboration with medical and administrative colleagues in establishing the units/departments patient care goals and daily operations. + Demonstrates leadership and influences others in both internal and external environments to promote optimal health services to the public. + Assists the director in allocation of resources to achieve clinical care. Ongoing monitoring of departmental revenue cycle, operational budget, long range capital, variable, staffing budgets, and daily productivity. + Supports and facilitates staff professional development. + Assist the Director with managerial oversight and performance appraisals of all department staff. + Demonstrates independent problem identification and problem solving skills and follows through on timely plans of corrections. + Assist in the development, adherence and implementation of departmental and corporate policy and procedures, in accordance with regulatory and accredited agencies standards. + Demonstrates expert clinical knowledge base within identified area of specialty and assures staff competency in clinical care delivery. + Assist the Director in recruitment, retention, development, support and mentoring of all staff roles, promoting staff advancement of leadership skills as well as remedial education as required and ongoing succession planning. + Demonstrates exceptional communication skills with team members and patients / families. + Functions as a unit leader, with the ability to act as a resource person (both clinically and non-clinically) for nursing personnel, physicians and providers.

Investigates and resolves patient/family/significant other complaints.

Provides leadership by delegating appropriate responsibilities to assigned nurses and ancillary personnel.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. + Two years of nursing experience with demonstrated leadership qualities and behaviors. +

DIALYSIS:

Minimum three years acute and chronic clinical dialysis experience. + RN licensed in New York.
