Required across units as needed Position Overview The Nurse Supervisor oversees shift-based clinical operations, staff coordination, and patient care delivery within a large acute-care setting (400+ beds). This leadership role requires sound judgment, proactive staffing management, and the ability to lead interdisciplinary teams while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support bedside nursing teams during E/N weekday shifts and D/N weekend shifts. Act as the clinical lead for troubleshooting escalated care situations, staffing issues, and patient flow challenges. Ensure adequate staffing coverage, review acuity-based needs, and adjust assignments accordingly. Lead daily huddles, support new staff, and foster a positive, accountable team culture. Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, hospital policies, and best practices. Handle patient complaints, coordinate with providers, and serve as the point of contact during leadership off-hours. Maintain documentation and reporting of incidents, shift summaries, and staffing metrics. Float as needed to support multiple units within scope of practice.

Required Qualifications Licensure:

Active, unrestricted RN license (must be eligible to practice in New York).

Certifications:

AHA BLS and ACLS (no exceptions).

Experience:

Minimum 3 years in a leadership or supervisory nursing role . Experience in a hospital with more than 400 beds required. Recent acute-care or med-surg/telemetry leadership experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

Must live 75+ miles away from the facility (locals not accepted). Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday . No RTO accepted for Labor Day . Preferred Skills Strong leadership and team coordination in high-acuity settings Excellent clinical decision-making and multitasking skills Effective communication and conflict-resolution abilities EMR proficiency (Epic or similar) Strong knowledge of hospital regulations and quality standards
