Job Description
Responsibilities Responsible for the provision of safe and effective care to all patients on the unit; foster an environment based on Neuman’s “Client System Model” and Watson’s “Caring Model” of delivery of patient care and organize teams based on Benner’s “Novice to Expert” theory Lead unit in providing direction and guidance Participate in staff development and training while performing as a mentor and resource person; participate in the completion of Performance Appraisals for nursing and support staff Management of a unit for a specific shift in the absence of the Nurse Manager, as well as liaison between the physician, patient and family.
Requirements:
Current New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred. Prior experience as an Assistant Nurse Manager or clinical coordinator preferred. Specialty certification required in the area of clinical practice or within 1 year of hire. Must have knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, regulatory codes, personnel and administrative policies. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a RN required. Advanced life support in area of specialty preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of specialty required. PALS certification preferred. BLS certification required – only accepted from American Heart Association; No online programs from any organization will be accepted. Salary Range USD $53.63 – USD $73.65 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
