$71,612.39 – $110,999.20 ThisNurse Supervisor provides day to day coordination of the clinicalactivity within the departments (main site: Albany; satellite site:

Hudson) to ensure smooth operation of the practice includingadequate and appropriate staff coverage, maintenance of clinicalstandards, and a safe physical environment of care. Workscollaboratively with physicians and administrative staff to providecontinuity of care and access care in the clinical care setting.

Assures regulatory compliance, provides education to staff,patients, and families and acts as a liaison between clinical andadministrative staff. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible formaintaining an efficient, cohesive and productive work team withinthe Department and to help the practice achieve the institutionalmission of high-quality provision of care for patients.

Salaryrange:

$85,000 – $107,343 Essential Duties & Responsibilities,including but not limited to: Responsible for patient flow throughclinic and all point-of-care testing Supervises Triage Nurses andworkflows Maintains highest level of professionalism and positivelyleads by example. Reviews processes and procedures to ensureoptimal clinic workflow and capturing of charges. Develops andmotivates staff to work effectively and within their licensure.

Fosters a strong, collaborative relationship with the PracticeCoordinator. Attends Sr. Manager meetings and Works with fellowmanagers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, elevating whennecessary. Protects confidentiality of all patient andstaff-related concerns. Oversees supply and medication ordering ina cost-conscious manner. Responsible for Joint Commissioncompliance and weekly tracer submission.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in nursing is required, BSN is preferred. NYSRegistered Nurse Licensure is required. Current BLS certification.

A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience is required, preferablyin a charge or supervisory role. A.

B. Patient SatisfactionAssesses patient feedback and act as a liaison to ensure patientsatisfaction while protecting the welfare of the Division,Department, Practice and Institution. Investigates and addressespatient complaints with support of Practice Coordinator and NurseManager Train and monitors staff on proper policies and clinicalmanagement to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction andquality of care possible. Monitors site workflow to ensure optimalefficiency and makes appropriate adjustments or provides support/training when necessary. C. Operations Collects and managesclinical related stoplight reports and addresses clinical issueswithin the division. Monitors staff performance through consistentmeasurement. Recommends opportunity for improvement, initiatestraining and or corrective actions, focuses on improvement of staffabilities. Directly supervises all clinical support staff by beingphysically present intermittently at the site during business hoursand to be reachable to address staff questions or emergencies afterhours and on weekends. Coordinates daily workflow of clinicalstaff, delegates daily tasks to appropriate clinical staff andensures completion of these tasks. Ensures staff is knowledgeableabout institutional resources, policies, and procedures and be ableto share and communicate this information effectively. Maintainseffective communication with staff in a timely and effective mannerby coordinating, facilitating, and documenting staff meetings withclinical staff. Ensures that medical equipment functions properlyand understands the process to manage failure as needs arise.

Revised December 2018 Page 3 of 6 Works with the divisionphysicians, administrative staff and nurse manager to ensurecompliance with The Joint Commission and any other governingregulatory authority. Participates in Environment of Care Surveyswith Practice Manager. Reviews and maintains OSHA and SDScompliance manuals. Orders and stocks supplies and medications asneeded for clinical areas. Maintains inventory records to ensurefiscal responsibility, working within budgetary confines within theDivision. Maintains tracking logs- i.e., refrigerator temps, QCchecks for CLIA waved testing, medication samples, emergencymedications. As staffing needs demand, support all clinical needswithin their department to include but not limited to: assist withtelephone triage, administer medications, provide direct patientcare, assist the providers, task completion, medication priorauthorizations, and prescription. D. Administrative LiaisonProvides proactive administrative and staff support in a patientcentered environment. Functions as an administrative liaison tointernal and external customers. Advocates for patients, familiesand staff. Provides input to Nursing Management for qualityimprovement. Ensures clinical staff is documenting properly, givingage appropriate care, gathering data correctly, and facilitatingcare in a customer friendly manner. E. Consultation Functions as aresource to staff for solving complex clinical problems. Maintainsup to date knowledge regarding legal aspects of nursing policiesand procedures and regulations governing the organization, andshares knowledge openly. Assists with resolving conflicts betweenindividual needs and the requirements of the organization. Supportsand promotes lifelong learning using the organization’s establishedempowerment process. Acts as a mentor and consultant to staff inincorporating the organization’s mission, vision and values toenhance patient satisfaction by anticipating and exceedingpatient’s needs.
