Duties Description Hutchings Psychiatric Center is recruiting a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric to supervise registered nurses and direct care. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply. As Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric, you will supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned nursing and direct care staff including:
- Directing and reviewing the work of nursing staff
- Preparing and monitoring staffing schedules
- Developing daily staffing plans for nursing care
- Ensuring compliance with established standards of nursing care in accordance with State, federal, and accreditation agency requirements.
May include providing education to outpatient nursing staff and coverage as needed. The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside and within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 Psychiatric if they have:
- License and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State, and
- 3 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness, addiction, or substance use disorders.
Substitution:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing can substitute for 1 year of post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing can substitute for 2 years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. ORCandidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Nurse Administrator 1 Psychiatric or Nurse Administrator 2 Psychiatric eligible list.
ORCandidates from within State service may be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Additional Comments:
Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 22 ($82,326), an Increase Hiring Rate ($10,852), Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000). The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate ($104,230), Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000).Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment. 7% shift differential for evening shift. 10% shift differential for night shift.
