Job Description SummaryWith limited supervision, the AssistantNurse Manager (ANM) reports to the Nurse Manager. The ANM assiststhe Nurse Manager in overall assessment, strategic planning,implementation and evaluation of patient care in assigned areas.

The ANM supports the achievement of optimal department, IntegratedClinical Centers of Excellence (ICCE) and Medical Center goals andpromotes shared governance structure and process. This will beachieved through the creation and maintenance of a practiceenvironment that leads to the achievement of desired clinical,staffing, quality, financial outcomes and operational efficiency,as well as well as individualized, age specific needs of patients.

The ANM fosters an environment of collaboration and respect allmembers of MUSC Health System and will provide departmental callcoverage as required.

Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accreditedcollege/university; Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of NursingPractice (DNP) in lieu of BSN. If BSN only, a Master’s degree in arelated field or DNP completion expected within 4 years of hiredate required. Three years related work experience as a registerednurse required. Extensive knowledge of the unit’s patientpopulation, health care trends, community and regional resourcesand service availability to these populations. An ability toestablish working relationships with diverse groups and individual,medical staff and other health care disciplines. Certification inspecialty area preferred or completion within one year ofeligibility strongly encouraged.

Required Licensure,Certifications, Registrations:

Licensure as a registered nurse bythe South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state required.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certificationfrom an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for HealthcareProviders (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red CrossCPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
