Coordinates patient care throughput and nursestaffing needs during assigned shift. Determines and coordinatesdaily staffing assignments and levels. Management of patient placement based on supply and demand ofbeds. Representative of nursing and hospital administration and has theauthority and responsibility for administrative decisions and appropriate notification of ChiefNursing Officer and Administrator On Call. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill requiredservice levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues andcomplaints. Coordinates patient admissions with nursing, patient access,physicians and case management, including admissions from ED, direct admissions from physicians’ offices andany admission from an outlying facility.

Minimum Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or RN Diploma
- Required Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriateaction. Ability to apply basic nursing knowledge to all setting in the hospital. Requires ability to functioneffectively within a high-level multi-task environment.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) (American Heart Association or AmericanRed Cross)
- Required to be current upon hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross)
- Required within 6 months of hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (American Heart Associationor American Red Cross)
- Required within 6 months of hire
Licenses:
Must have upon hire and maintain Tennessee or Multi-StateRegistered Nurse licensure Minimum Work Experience Minimum of 2 years hospital nursing experience required. Experienceas charge nurse or nurse manager preferred.
