Nashville, TN Ascension Saint Thomas is looking for a skilled and compassionateRegistered Nurse to join our unit! Join us in providing excellentcare to our patients while learning a variety of skills. The 6String Neurology/Stroke unit is a 30 bed unit that cares primarilyfor the stroke patient population and some medical surgicalpatients. This unit can be fast paced and RN’s will be able toreceive NIH Certification within 3 months provided throughcompletion of online modules and in person class. Responsibilities Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuringimplementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned areas. Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support associatesduring assigned shifts. Meet with staff and exercise independent judgment to plan theshifts, services, and patient care. Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patientcare assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient careis given and is accountable for maintaining productivity standardsand justifying variances to unit manager or designee. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage throughestablished channels. Facilitate availability of adequate material, resources andsupplies. Set priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics. Provide input into hiring, training, directing, development andevaluation of staff. Requirements Licensure / Certification /

Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or jobtransfer date reqired. American Heart Association or American RedCross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursingobtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year ofcumulative job specific experience required.
