•Donalson Care Center is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a full-time position as the Unit Manager. The basic purpose of the Unit Manager is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the unit. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by DON, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Also under the general direction of the DON facilitates the transition of patients throughout a variety of care settings. Provides clinically-based case management, discharge planning and care coordination to facilitate the delivery of cost effective quality healthcare and assists in the identification of appropriate utilization of resources across the continuum of care.
Unit Manager Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Assist the
DON/ADON
in development, implementation and evaluation of on-going service programs which assure quality nursing, and resident care programs consistent with the Health System mission. Assist the
DON/ADON
to monitor/maintain care center compliance with regulatory accrediting and health system policy for residents’ services, and environmental and personnel safety. Collaborate with DON/Administrator to oversee unit PI program which monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care. Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow-through and communication. Consults with residents/families through primary nurse request, direct family request and/or direct assessment of resident/family response. Assesses resident/significant other survey responses regarding nursing care and services. Responsible for on‑going development of staff and specific resident care programs. In collaboration with the DON/Administrator, is responsible for care center’s operational excellence; assures care center delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards. Effectively communicates departmental, organization and industry information to staff. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department’s/unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Unit Manager Qualifications & Skills:
Current State of Tennessee licensure (or eligible) as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse CPR certification required A minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in a health care setting.
