The OR Nurse Manager will report to the Director of Perioperative Services, and will be supported by 2 supervisors. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for 80 full time nurses, an educator, 2 Clinical Nurse Leaders and various Registered Nurse First Assists. The Nurse Manager Surgical Services will oversee a very busy department with 12 Operating Rooms, and 2 dedicated minor procedure endoscopy rooms. The Medical Center sees a variety of cases, including: General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Urology, Plastics, Thoracic, Heart, Neuro, Podiatry, ENT, Vascular and Ophthalmology. The Medical center recently upgraded the surgical services department, with the help of the Da Vinci SI HD surgery System, allowing minimally invasive surgery. Overall, they perform over 12,000 inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. The ideal Surgical Services Nurse Manager will have previous management or supervisory experience, in addition to experience as an Operating Room Nurse. The Perioperative Services Nursing Manager will prepare annual budgets, develop spreadsheets, monitor and analyze financial information and implement operational changes to meet budget targets. Though the Medical Center is one of the busiest in the state, the Nurse Manager will be required to assist in growing the service line and creating and maintaining physician relations.
