Occupational Therapist-School SettingTheOccupational Therapist will work in a school setting, providingtherapy services to children with disabilities and developmentaldisorders. The primary responsibilities of the OccupationalTherapist will include: Conducting evaluations and assessments ofchildren with disabilities, identifying their unique needs anddeveloping appropriate treatment plans. Developing personalizedtreatment plans to address the physical, sensory, and cognitivechallenges that children face in their daily lives. Providingindividual and group therapy sessions, guiding children throughexercises and activities that enhance their coordination, motorskills, and problem-solving abilities. Collaborating with teachers,parents, and other school staff to create a supportive andinclusive learning environment that accommodates the diverse needsof each child. Incorporating assistive technology and adaptiveequipment into treatment plans as needed, ensuring that childrenhave the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Tracking anddocumenting the progress of each child, assessing their progresstowards achieving treatment goals and making necessary adjustmentsto treatment plans as needed.
Participating in team meetings andprofessional development activities, staying up-to-date on thelatest research and best practices in the field of occupationaltherapy.
To be successful in this role, the Occupational Therapistwill need to have strong communication skills, be able to workcollaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders in afast-paced environment, and have a deep understanding of thedevelopmental needs of children with disabilities. The positionrequires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy,with licensure and/or certification required in the state ofpractice. Additional experience working in a school setting ishighly desirable.
