Job Description

Category Schools – OT Job Type Contract A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide services during the Extended School Year (ESY) for a K-12 school setting in Waterbury, CT. This role supports elementary and middle school students and will run from June 30th through July 30th, offering a flexible schedule of half days Monday through Friday. The position is designed to deliver 17-20 hours per week, with daily hours concluding by 12 or 1 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and deliver individualized treatment plans for K-8 students. Collaborate with educators and school staff to integrate therapeutic goals within the classroom environment. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions based on developmental needs. Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about student outcomes. Adhere to all regulatory and school district guidelines for ESY services.

Qualifications:

Valid OT or COTA licensure in the state of Connecticut. Experience working with pediatric populations in educational settings, particularly in elementary and middle school environments. Knowledge of school-based therapy service delivery and ESY program requirements. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage caseload duties efficiently.
