Benchmark is involved in all aspects of care forthe youngest among us—from overseeing regional programs toproviding hands-on services through federal and state programs.
Children’s Services help babies and toddlers with disabilities ordelays learn new skills that typically develop during the firstthree years of life including physical, cognitive,social/emotional, and communication skills. Our OT’s conductsevaluations and assessments, participate in Individualized FamilyService Plan (IFSP) development and implementation, monitoroutcomes as a member of the team, and provide EI supports tofamilies for the benefit of the child. JobResponsibilities:
Comply with all Federal and State regulations,including those outlined in the Connecticut Birth to Three ProgramRegulations. Administer evaluations and assessments. Developrapport with children, families, and team members to promote ahealthy learning environment. Develop joint plan with family andrecommend strategies utilizing evidence-based practices andfollowing the Natural Learning Environment Practices. ImplementIFSP for enrolled families and recommend frequency of servicesbased on child development status and family priorities andconcerns. Provide families with information, skills and supportrelated to enhancing their child’s development. Utilize thecoaching model and natural environment teaching. Participate inBirth to Three sponsored trainings, meetings and learningopportunities as appropriate. Complete Birth to Three ServiceCoordinator Modules and function as the Service Coordinator. Complywith all standards to assure the health and safety of all staff andindividuals we serve.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellentorganization and time management skills. Strong communicationskills. Respectful to others and ability to collaborate well withteam. Knowledge of Connecticut’s Birth to Three early interventionprogram and best practices for early intervention service deliveryDemonstrates a commitment to Natural Learning EnvironmentPractices. Confident in adapting to various learning styles to meetthe needs of each child and their individualized treatment plan
Qualifications:
Possess a valid Occupational Therapy license in thestate of CT. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in OccupationalTherapy.
