May be assigned to orient staff andstudents and assume the duties and responsibilities of thesupervisor in the absence of that individual as qualified to do soAssesses patients’ needs; identifies and initiates appropriateoccupational therapy interventions; works cooperatively with otherpatient team personnel in maintaining standards for professionaloccupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamworkObserves and evaluates treatment affect, accomplishment of shortand long term goals. Recommends change to physician, if neededPerforms an appropriate assessment on each patient and performsreassessments, as per policy. Performs accurate and timely QIscoring. The population is adult and geriatric patients requiringan adult medical rehabilitation program and services Able to assesspatient pain interfering with optimal level of function ofparticipation in rehabilitation; makes appropriate interventions toreduce pain; makes appropriate physician contact for interventionPerforms all aspects of patient care in an environment thatoptimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood ofmedical/health care errors Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Current licensure as an OccupationalTherapist in the state where the hospital is located Previousexperience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, butnot required Effective oral and written communication skills inEnglish with additional languages preferred Current CPR/BLScertification Northeast Georgia Rehabilitation Institute strives tomaximize the health, function, and quality of life of those weserve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitationprograms.
