RequiredQualifications:
Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in compliance withstate regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or higher of Occupational Therapy OTR Certification (NBCOT) Occupational Therapy Assistant experience, but New Grads arewelcome to apply Other certifications or licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) providescomprehensive, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to helppatients develop, recover, and enhance the skills necessary forindependent daily living. Working across diverse settings the OTevaluates patient needs, diagnoses functional limitations, anddesigns individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’sunique goals. Through direct, hands-on interventions and the use ofadaptive techniques and specialized equipment, the OT empowerspatients and educates their families on strategies to optimizefunctional independence and improve overall quality of life.
Essential Work Functions:
Create personalized therapy plans based on patient assessments,evidence-based practices, and patient goals Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions andtreatments in accordance with the established treatment plan Provide direct, hands-on therapy using adaptive techniques,modalities, and assistive devices to improve functional abilitiesin daily living and work-related tasks Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals,techniques, and strategies to enhance independence in activities ofdaily living (ADLs) and instrumental ADLs Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare team toensure coordinated, holistic care Track patient progress through regular evaluations, modifytreatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation inthe medical record Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professionaldevelopment activities to remain current with best practices inoccupational therapy Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, andregulatory standards to maintain a secure and supportive therapyenvironment Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitionsand continued patient progress in community or home-basedsettings Perform additional duties assigned within scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
- Must be able to cope with frequentcontact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlinesunder pressure.
