Occupational Therapist Job Description The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will administer occupational therapy to patients across all age groups, providing age-specific direct care services. The role involves coordinating, delegating, and supervising tasks assigned to supportive staff while demonstrating effective resource utilization, which is essential for the operational stability of the organization. Responsibilities Communicate effectively and assist in resolving problems. Participate in performance improvement and program growth initiatives. Engage in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety, and fire safety programs. Essential Skills Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Occupational Therapy (OT) certification. Minimum of 1 year of experience in occupational therapy within an acute care, inpatient, or rehab setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in CNOR, CSSM, medical and operations direction, PACU, case management, and supervision roles is advantageous. Work Environment The facility is an acute care center located in west Miami-Dade County with 417 beds. Services offered include trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s services, behavioral health, and diagnostic services. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with rotating weekends, offering a $3/hr shift differential. On-site presence is mandatory, and the work culture is described as amazing with great benefits.
