About the
Role:
As an Occupational Therapist with Union General Health System, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients through therapeutic interventions. Your primary focus will be on helping individuals regain their independence and improve their functional abilities following injury, illness, or disability. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient. This position requires a deep understanding of various rehabilitation techniques, particularly in geriatric and neurological care. Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience in rehabilitation settings, particularly with geriatric and neurological populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in specialized areas such as sensory integration or traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and social needs to inform treatment planning.
Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at improving patients’ daily living skills.
Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Monitor and document patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and strategies to support recovery and independence.
Skills:
