FUNCTION
The Registered Occupational Therapist will providediagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients, and helppatients reach maximum performance level and to use skills learnedto the fullest to function in the community within the limits oftheir capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy required.
- Current registration with the American Occupational TherapyAssociation required.
- One year of experience preferred.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to use tools used to make adaptive equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To perform this jobsuccessfully, an individual must be able to perform each keyfunction satisfactorily.
1. Provides consultation in areas such as environmental design,adaptive equipment, proper positioning of patients to preventcontractures and splinting. Administers and writes evaluations ofassigned patients in accordance with departmental standards andprocedures. 2. Maintains timely and accurate patient records and reports. 3. Designs and administers treatment programs to increase patients’levels of functioning. Uses therapeutic exercises and activities toimprove or maintain strength, range of motion, and fine-motorcoordination. Instructs patients in adapted techniques and the useof adaptive equipment for meal preparation, home management,dressing, feeding, and other self-care skills. Trains patients inthe use of upper-extremity prosthetic devices to resume previousdaily routines. Participates in home assessments. 4. Provides therapy for neurological integration; administerssensor-motor integration treatment techniques and visualperceptual-motor remediation programs. Uses activities to increasedevelopmental levels of patients. Designs and providesindividualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients. 5. Designs and fabricates splints as specified by doctors’prescriptions; designs and/or fabricates slings and adaptiveequipment to meet the needs of patients and/or their families.
