$45,380
- $105,180 per year (based on education and experience)
Position Summary:
Identifies specific delays or deficits in the development process, assesses physical limitations and provides intervention programs to establish the foundation essential to the learning process.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in occupational therapy preferred
Occupational therapist license/certificate
Experience in pediatrics/school-based occupational therapy preferred
Position Responsibilites:
Evaluates students for physical limitations, developmental delays, fine motor delays, sensory-motor dysfunction, perceptual-motor abilities, self-help skills, functional daily living skills and adaptive equipment needs; develops and administers educational programs based on evaluation results.
Provides training for educational staff and supervises programs conducted by educational staff.
Rmends and/or fabricates adaptive equipment for ADL (Activities of Daily Living) needs, and for individualized classroom seating.
Provides home programs for parents/guardians when appropriate.
Participates in district and department meetings as appropriate.
Participates in continuing education and researches current treatment methods.
Assists with orientation of new staff members.
Maintains student records, IEPs, and prepares other reports as requested.
Maintains inventory of materials/supplies and submits requisitions as needed.
Participates in staffing meetings, department meetings, parent programs and conferences.
Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the public.
Supervises occupational therapy assistants and students as needed.
Provides consultation to teacher and paraprofessionals regarding individualized handling and positioning techniques, adaptive equipment, materials and programs as needed.
Serves onmittees.
Attends IEP and other student meetings when necessary and develops individualized goals for assigned students.
Correspondsmunicates with students’ doctors, orthopedists, and orthotics on regular basis to ensure continuity of care.
Completes Medicaid billing for all related services.
Secures adaptive equipment for students as necessary.
Travels to various programs/site location in the Pattonville School District.
Performs other duties and responsibilites as assigned.
