The 142-bed full-servicehospital is located in Washington and has earned nationaldesignation as a Primary Stroke Center. It is home to a 16-bedemergency department that serves approximately 25,000 patients peryear, as well as the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center – a providerof leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among othercancer services. ECU Health Beaufort also offers general medicaland surgical services, operative services, a women’s birthingcenter, rehabilitation services and outpatient clinics.

PositionSummaryResponsible for assessing, treatment planning and executionof Occupational Therapy treatments. These services are based on thepatient/family preferences and the developmental needs, medicalconditions and diseases as they affect patient care and recovery.

The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for maintainingpatient care documentation and adherence to documentationguidelines. The staff therapist shall participate in maintaining apatient caseload and meeting established productivity standards.

Able to understand the patient problems as related to the patient’soccupational performance. Supervises Level I & II studentsOccupational Therapy and Rehab Studies students. Interprets resultsof standardized tests. Develops plan of care. Involved with specialprojects and capable of assisting with research. May providesupervision and delegation of responsibilities to OT I and II & allOccupational Therapy Assistant staff. Assists with teaching OT andOTA students at the collegiate level, staff development,credentialing Occupational Therapy Assistants. Has identified anarea of clinical expertise. Performs other duties asassigned.

Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate inOccupational Therapy is required.

Five or greater years and lessthan 10 years of licensure.
