Position Summary Responsible for assessing, treatment planning and execution of Occupational Therapy treatments. These services are based on the patient/family preferences and the developmental needs, medical conditions and diseases as they affect patient care and recovery. The staff therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care documentation and adherence to documentation guidelines. The staff therapist shall participate in maintaining a patient caseload and meeting established productivity standards. Able to understand the patient problems as related to the patient’s occupational performance. Supervises Level I & II students Occupational Therapy and Rehab Studies students. Interprets results of standardized tests. Develops plan of care. Involved with special projects and capable of assisting with research. May provide supervision and delegation of responsibilities to OT I and II & all OTA staff. Assists with teaching OT and OTA students at the collegiate level, staff development, credentialing Occupational Therapy Assistants. Has identified an area of clinical expertise. Performs other duties as assigned. This level involves increased responsibility for solving problems directly related to difficult patient care but also for reorganizing and assisting with resolution within the department in order to maximize patient care/staff performance. Will have identified a second area of expertise. Able to assist with a single case research project. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy is required. Ten or more years of licensure required.
