Responsibilities:
OccupationalTherapistSummary:
Provide occupational therapy (OT) and relatedservices for patients while maintaining positive levels ofinteraction with facilities and clients in accordance with theprinciples and practices of occupational therapy and within ReliantRehabilitation guidelines.
Provide quality patient care including:
screening and evaluation of patients, development of initial andongoing treatment plans of care, discharge plan, supervision ofassistants and rehab techs, and case management responsibilities.
Maintain professional conduct that represents ReliantRehabilitations commitment to quality and service in allinteractions with clients, including positive levels of interactionand rapport with facilities and clients. Adhere to all state andfederal regulations regarding occupational therapy.
Essential Dutiesand Responsibilities:
Optimize the functionality and skills ofpatients by providing, directing, and/or overseeing occupationaltherapyProvide consultation and clinical supervision toCOTAs.
Directly supervise COTAs and Rehab Techs in skilled tasksduring group and individual treatment in a manner that promotesefficient and effective utilization of resources and facilitatesthe ongoing development of clinical skills in accordance with StatePractice Acts, Omnibus Reconciliation Act (OBRA), and ReliantRehabilitation policy.
Build a strong occupational therapyprogramEnhance clinical expertise, professional and managementskills through interaction with managers, therapists and otherprofessional staff, self-study, and other continuing educationactivities.
Maintain valid state license. Maintain awareness ofissues related to the profession of occupational therapy and thehealth care environment.
Understands various relevant payment modelsrelated to billing and treatment guidelines, as well as clinicallyappropriate means/modes of delivery. Provide quality care as wellas reasonable goals and outcomes within the guidelines.
Be compliantwith infection control procedures and environmental safety protocolwithin a facility.
