Job Summary:

Reporting to the Cheift OT, the Certified HandTherapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist who has a minimum offive years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more indirect practice in hand therapy. In addition, the Certified HandTherapist has successfully passed a comprehensive test of advancedclinical skills and theory in upper quarter rehabilitation. Theclinical practice position requires an advanced understanding ofhand/UE anatomy, research principles, and treatment techniques.

Responsibilities include assessment, planning, treatment, andongoing evaluation of the provision of care for a diverse hand/UEpatient population. The CHT provides patients and family educationand support. The scope of hand therapy services for patients andfamilies includes all phases of care including prevention,assessment, rehabilitation, and education/caregiver training. TheCHT works effectively on a multidisciplinary team.

MinimumQualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from anaccredited Occupational Therapy program required.

Experience:

5years as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) Licensure and/or

Certification:

Current license to practice Occupational Therapy inMassachusetts required. Certified Hand Therapist by Hand TherapyCertification Commission (HTCC) Preferred Certification from theNational Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).BLS healthcare provider required.

Skills:

Excellent customerservice skills. Must be able to read, write, and communicate inEnglish. Computer skills required. Ability to maintain confidentialinformation.
