As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with individuals to achieve the best physical, cognitive, and mental functioning in daily life skills including:

• Conducting evaluations and assessments to determine individuals’ capabilities and needs in areas of strength, functional mobility, and self-care skills
• Making recommendations on treatment based on evaluation results
• Observing and reporting individuals’ progress, response, and behavior
• Supervising individual and group occupational therapy activities Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Senior Occupational Therapist if you are licensed and current registered as an Occupational Therapist in New York.

ORCandidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 20 of $74,193, a Geographic Pay Differential of $13,000, and Downstate Adjustment of $4,000. The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate of $94,121, Geographic Pay Differential of $13,000, and Downstate Adjustment of $4,000.
